I did see recently that Quark offer really cheap student pricing - I wish i'd known about it when i was a student. The price might appear high, but when you do commercial work with it, the price is compensated by less than a day's work. Thankfully I've only got the trial and have spent a whole Saturday trying to work out how to stroke a line of text only to now learn from the Quark forums that it isn't possible. These tools are completley unneccessary in a DTP program that is supposed to be for publishing not web building. Have these programmers been asleep for the past 13 years? They've spent an incredible amount of resources in getting Quark to do interactive rubbish that should be done in a web tool like Dreamweaver or Flash. Neither can you add a bulleted list! MS Word 97 could even do that. The remarkable thing is that with this software costing nearly a grand, it can't even add a stroked outline to text! Even the most basic programs should be able to do this yet one can't do so with Quark 8.01. I've left a comment under another users review of this product but I felt that I should write my own as I've found something quite remarkable about this program.
